I currently have an empty octagonal 80-gallon tank that I am going to be setting up. I would like to have a nice setup going. I hae always been a big fan of the mandarin goby/mandarin dragonet. I would like to haev some of those in this tank. What are some really good fish that would fit well. I would like to have some coral possibly, inverts maybe? I am new to this, so please give me some tips on where to lean towards and comment on what would fit well in this rather large tank.

I know nothing about saltwater aquairums sorry :S , but I would post this also in the saltwater forum as well to get more answers...

if i were you, i would get a planted tank, great way to start out, but you must study about plants first and get some hardy easy to take care of plants to start out with, and i would get semi-aggressive fish, make it full of red tailed shark, clown loach, tiger barbs, and puffer fish.... love my set up, and plants allow you never to be bored, because once you set it up and you have nothing to do but watch it, then you get kinda bored and are looking for another tank.... so get plants to keep you ocupied...

p.s. coral and or saltwater fish would be very expensive and very hard to take care of, even brackish/marine iis really hard to start out with, you must know what you are doing and let the tank cycle for atleast 2 months..... dont start out with saltwater (just my advice) study up on it for around 6 months, and check it out before you go way into it.... 80 gallons would cost around 1600$ for salt water, it would probably cost you around 500 - 600$ for freshwater.... but its up to you...
