Setting Up A Coldwater Fishtank From A Tropical Tank

I had tropical fish in this tank and i've given them away, i'm now wanting to set up a coldwater fish tank with goldfish in it.

How should i set the tank up and what type of things do they like...

Such as the decoration and background.

You'll need about 40 gall for a pair. Is your tank big enough? How long ago did you give the tropicals away? If it was only yesterday, you should start feeding the filter bacteria with some ammonia to keep them alive which will make any new setup easier. Much longer than that, and you're probably going to have to start almost from scratch.

I'd imagine goldfish like the same kind of stuff as tropical fish.

Plants (real or fake), ornaments and somewhere to hide. I have a big bridge which shades my fish from any current and occasionally they will hide under it.
