ive been readin a little everywhere in the forum and found out that u could keep dp's(2) with freshwater bumble gobies...could this work?

i imagine for this to work you would need many little caves and alot of plants to keep the agression down.

Another question: im setting up a 10 gallon tank for dp's: how many should i put in? if i do try bumble gobies i thought they were brakish?

also i here my chances of the dp's not being agressive is by buying the gobies before so the gobies establish them selves.....

info, info, dont wanna be a big dynamo :flex:

come on peoples, im an impatient man.

i know its stupid but i wanna know......come on..... :-(

bumblebee gobies are brackish,
and therefore unsuitable to be kept with DPs

not unless you're lucky enough to find the true FW BBGs.

A 10g would work fine with BBGs and DPs.

Dont ask me the stocking because im not an expert at these guys together :p

maybe PM Sir Minion for an answer, or wait for him to reply

there is no such thing!
all bumblebee gobie species are brackish not freshwater

ofcoarse there is!
where are your sources?

FISHBASE!
all brachygobius species are brackish.
Brachygobius nunus = brackish http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSum...eciesname=nunus
Brachygobius sua = brackish http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSum...speciesname=sua
Brachygobius xanthozonus =brackish http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSum...ame=xanthozonus
Brachygobius kabiliensis = brackish http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSum...ame=kabiliensis
Brachygobius aggregatus = brackish http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSum...name=aggregatus

some maybe able to start out in freshwater but they will need to be moved to brackish as adults

check mate!

i always thought there was a true FW species -_-

All species are brackish, but Hypogymnogobius xanthozona can survive in hard alkaline water into its adult life.

However Brachygobius doriae cannot survive in FW as an adult and will need an SG of around 1.005 as an adult.

I wouldn't put anything with a DP if you don't want to lose it. My DPs will pick off anything that cathes their interest in the tank. Recently, my lfs was out of ghost shrimp (I keep in the tank as "weekend feeder") so I bought some feeder-guppy fry. The 6 I put in were down to 2 in 2 days....and they weren't necessarily killed to eat. I found 2 bodies that were missing parts of their heads

EDIT: DPs will even take on fish that are bigger than themselves....they have NO FEAR
