the other day i got some cheato and burried in the middle of it were some baby serpent stars and some brittle worms and a few other things. i noticed this morning that atleast one of the serpents stars are alive. right now the one that i do know is alive is about 1/2 inch in size. so i was wondering how to take care of these guys. also how big do they get? any info on them would be great.

They are scavangers and will eat detritus and uneaten fish food, they could get up to 14 inches accross depending on species, chances are they will stay small though. No clue what a brittle worm is, sorry.

oops i meant bristle worms  i already know about these so no info is needed on them.

as far as the serpent star do i need to do anything special or will it survive on its own?

I would say it will survive on its own. Our bristle stars are pretty aggressive food finders. They will fight with other creatures in our tank over food and usually win lol. A small weak one, I am not sure...but all you can really do is place food near it.

They get really large. I never knew how big until last week when I saw a couple really huge ones at a fish store not too far from us. As big around as a medium size pizza. (legs included of course)
