I wasn't sure which forum to put this in and I already have a question similar to this one in the new world forum but I have two serpea tetras (fish i got to make sure the tank was ok) and I was wanting to get some angels. I have heard from many sources that they are fin nippers. Do they always bother the angels or fish that have long fins or is it a personality thing? Its also a 55 gallon tank so that might play a part to. There are four other fish but thay are also just fish I got to make sure the tank was ok, two red eyes and two unknown fish. What my main question really is that im asking if I should take the serpeas out before I even place the angels in or should I wait to see how they behave?
Thanks in advance

Must be 30 years ago I had Serpaes. I found them to be nippers.

They really should be in a larger group, say 6 fish. As with many slightly nippy fish, if they are in a large enough group, they tend to keep their interests on each other rather then their tank mates.

This is the right place by the way, Serpaes are Characins.
