I keep my bettas in 1g plastic tubs and once every other day or 3 days i do in with a small hose and suck out the dirt and 50% of the water. The hose is aproximately ____ that long in dianmeter. While cleaning the tub of one of my small girls, she charged the end of the hose and got her head wedged in one end, i immediately stopped suction and blew her head back thorugh. She went straight to teh bottom and layed on her side, her gills moved rapidly and i noticed blood seeping form them. this all happend about 15 minuts ago, since then, the bleeding has stopped and i have lowered teh water level to 1/2 an inch so that the fish and gulp air if she needs too. she is still on her side and clearly in trouble. i have not seen her gulp air from teh top or make an atempt too. i am very afraid that she may die but im not sure if a full recovery is possible. what i have in meds is very basic, (salt, melafix, and some ich meds). i feel like a horrible person for what i have done, iv only had this fish for two weeks and i cant beleive that iv probably killed it
im so upset i feel as if i could vomit, if anyone knows of anything i could try to make this fish better i would appritiate it more than anything else in this world. my fish mean more to me than anyone can imagine, they are my friends and i value them over most people, id really hate to lose this girl, espesially to my own neglagence
