I recently set up a 30 gallon long planted community tank. I have two 20 gallons in a seperate room and I want to remove the 2 male Bettas that I have in them. I know there is a small plastic "pen" that you can put inside a fish tank that hangs on the rim or uses suction cups to stay in place. I want it to be as safe and hospitable as possible for my 2 Bettas. I plan on putting one on each end of the aquarium, nestled in the sword plants and such.

It almost looks like a breeder cage. Where can I get these?

Thanks

I got mine at Petco, and I know they have them at Petsmart, and most fish stores. The nice thing about them is they get the water circulation they they wouldn't get in a similar size enclosure that wasn't actually in a larger tank.

Well, at my LFS I've only found one thing that I would think of using for something like that... its about 6x6x6 inches and its called a fry net, or something like that? supposed to be for keeping babies in one area of the tank? Its mesh with plastic support rim/poles and hangs from the side of the tank with hooks.

I feel bad by putting them in there, but they will torment the other fish. They should be fine.

What other fish are they with? Chances are, the bettas would be the ones tormented. But it is bad to keep them both in one tank. Maybe a divider?

Personally, I'd just go out and buy a 10 gallon tank ($10) and make a divider for it ($1)-- plus a heater ($10) and a screen cover ($5-6). I don't think it would cost you much more than what you'd spend on two of those hang-on-the-side thingies. And you'd have happier bettas.
