Hi all,
I have just finished treating one of my male Bettas for a rip in his caudal and dorsal fins (with Melafix and salt)... As I've noticed new growth where the rips are, I've discontinued the Melafix after about a week.
He was moved (for the treatment) from the 30 gal community tank, and is now in a 2 gal by himself with heater, all chem parameters are fine (NO2, NH3 at zero and pH at 7).

I have decided to keep him by himself, but he's not eating (hasn't in about 5 days), and now I have noticed (after his WC today) that he has several separate scales that are now an orangey color (he's normally a maroonish red). I say separate scales because, it's very definitely scale by scale, not a patch per se that covers some scales completely and others only alittle (make sense?). There are a few along his back and a few on one side, but not the other.

What could be the problem? Or am I overreacting? Thanks.

It's an area of 3- 4 scales (all touching) down his back and then another 3 -4 on one side... And it's the whole scales, not just part of them that have turned color... He's behaving normally, actively swimming etc. except he's not eating...

id try to find someone to help you or do some research, its kinda sounds like a fungus of some kind -_- keep a close eye on it, if its serious your gunna want to catch it early ;)
