Hi all,
I have just finished treating one of my male Bettas for a rip in his caudal and dorsal fins (with Melafix and salt)... As I've noticed new growth where the rips are, I've discontinued the Melafix after about a week.
He was moved (for the treatment) from the 30 gal community tank, and is now in a 2 gal by himself with heater, all chem parameters are fine (NO2, NH3 at zero and pH at 7).
I have decided to keep him by himself, but he's not eating (hasn't in about 5 days), and now I have noticed (after his WC today) that he has several separate scales that are now an orangey color (he's normally a maroonish red). I say separate scales because, it's very definitely scale by scale, not a patch per se that covers some scales completely and others only alittle (make sense?). There are a few along his back and a few on one side, but not the other.
What could be the problem? Or am I overreacting? Thanks.
