I was thinking aout putting a few rams in with my senegal bichir, he looks lonely. He's only about 5 in. now but could the 3.5 in. rams eventually become a meal for him?
most of us think "no" but some may disagree. what i think is that its always a risk to keep large predators with things small enough to eat. what looks like dinner is ultimately up to the fish and not to you; you may not want to risk it.
Rams will be a tempting menu item to your bichir as it grows. I would definitely consider a fish that has more of a chance to survive as the bichir nears its adult size of 12 inches or so.
true bichirs are good predators, especially at night when ever1s sleeping, i see my senegal bichir, which is the smallest of its species, trying to go after an angelfish, so now i dont think a ram willl work
