So my tank has been set up for nearly 6 months now with plants, some of which have came and gone, and some which are doing fairly well, but definitely not to their best.
I have quite a few bunches of vallis, 2 rather large Amazon swords, 2 x misc red/pink leafed plant, 2 moss balls and some others.

I have 2 concerns.. 1 the newly acquired vallis is starting to brown in parts, same as the last bunch of vallis I had, which died. So clearly I'm doing something wrong.. and 2nd concern, quite a lot of algae is building on the large leaves of the amazon sword.

My main question however is related to ferts and general advice, my bottle of "nutrafin" plant fert has just ran out, so now looking for a new bottle/range to replace it.

I've been looking at the seachem range, but utterly confused at all the different ones you can get, ie carbon, phosphate etc.

So basically, exactly which fert bottles would you recommend given my brief description above? I don't mind buying a few different ones.
I would like to go down the c02 route, but don't think I'd be able to give it the dedication, especially with the cheaper kits having to be turned off manually at night?

Thanks for any advice,
I really love the planted landscaping look, but currently finding it hard to gain solid advice on exact methods and products.

You can't really use liquid carbon with vallis, lots of people find it kills it, if your lighting isn't high you'd ne fine with an all in one fert like TPN+ (Tropica Plant Nutrition +) get the + tho as it has the much needed N&P, just out of curiosity what wattage is your lighting and how many bulbs? Do you have good flow or use the standard filter that came with the tank?

Thanks for the reply steveo! I'll look into that TPN+. Regarding my setup.. Wattage of my lighting.. not really a clue sorry! It's got twin T8 lamps in there though, just the ones that came with the setup, filter is an APS 2000EF filter with a long spray bar, which is spread virtually all the way across the water surface.
