Hi, I am wondering if someone can give me some advise on a secondhand aquarium.

I have found a really good deal on ebay which I would not ordinarily be able to afford. The question I have though is that it has been used for marine and there is some pink coral still stuck to the back wall.

Will this be able to be removed and is the tank still okay to use for freshwater tropical after marine?

Also will the filter which is also included be okay for freshwater?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, it's perfectly safe. All of the calcareous algae remnants will dissolve very quickly in freshwater.

yes it will be fine just givi it a good clean scrape the purple algea off (coraline algea) and the filter supplied depends on what filter it is if its a external yes if its a sump yes if its a filter and thats it yes if you want but its not needed and youl need a sponge filter aswell

Thank you both for your answers. I did not get the tank - ended up deciding that I really didn't want a corner unit (which is what this was). It is good to know that while I am searching for another one that I can use an ex-marine tank for fresh though.
