We went to buy silicon sealant for our 10-gallon tank, yeah?
A Walmart worker advised us to use superglue, and we ended up buying it.
I don't need to explain why, right?
Well, I was sensible enough not to use it, but next time i'll go to the store myself and buy it.

Must it be an aquarium sealer?
The hardware store keep running out of it.
They have some for doors and windows, though.

GE Silicone I for Window and Door caulk. Color of it doesn't matter, just whichever you like. It's the same thing as aquarium silicone.

GE Silicone II has a mold/mildew inhibitor which may or may not affect your fish, so make sure its GE I to be on the safe side.

all sealant will state if its fish safe.
NO it does not need to be "Aquarium" specific (indeed there is no such thing as aquarium specific sealant)
it, should be available from all hardware stores, and is not expencive.
just remember, unless it states Aquarium safe, its not safe. apart from that buy any silicone.
as for super glue.
:hyper: i'd use it. than march back to Walmart and demand compensation. :hyper:

Just to clarify, if you buy the 100% GE Silicone I, it used to say fish/aquarium safe, but it doesn't anymore partly because of liability issues (for example, someone builds a giant tank, it explodes and floods the house, then they sue the company because this country is sue happy). As long as you're not building something massive and make sure to give it time to fully cure, and then some more time, it should be fine. Plenty of people have used the GE I.

Also if you go with the GE silicone I make sure its a blue bottle. I heard the one in the red bottle has some mildewicide junk in it, bad for fish.

I'd be cautious. though you only need to check if the silicone has anti fungal additives. i feel it needs to say, so on the tube. I get mine from a caravan/boat shop, locally. it costs £3.99/$5 per 310mm tube. i also find that the sealant is always clear (if its aquarium safe). perversely though, clear does not ensure safety.

and, too me, if the firm is to afraid, of the quality of its product. buy another product!
:hyper: litigation, i sometimes feel, we should shoot all lawyers. it may not stop the world turning into "LITIGARA". but the human gene pool would benefit! :hyper:
