Hi I have two seahorses in a 75 gallon tank with a heater. They are both healthy and are very funny to watch! They keep grabbing onto things with their tails, such as the dead coral and the rocks. But sometimes they grab the heater and hang onto it for a really really long time.

Will this heat burn their tails like it burns human fingers? Will they know to get off of it?

I'm assuming the seahorses would let go if the heater was burning them and if they do it often then that to me says it dont really hurt them holding onto it or they would stop holding it.

As long as they seem happy and healthy then I should think that things were fine.

If however you are worried then how about getting a heater cover for your heater? This will stop the seahorses getting to it. ;)

I'm not so sure they'd let go... I think that's the reason why you're not supposed to put stinging corals in their tanks. What kind of seahorses do you have? :)
