Good day guys,

I just received 250ml of Purigen and wanted to add it to my external filter.

My nitrates are about 50 and was doing water changes and decreased food but looks like nothing helps. I was wondering if anybody else was using it and how dangerous is that.

I have 28gal tank, how much should I add? It says 250ml for 250 gal so I need to add only 28 ml?

Also I understand that to regenerate it I need to put it into the bleach and Prime after that.
How safe will it be to use it again i my tank.

Thank you very much.

Use all the purigen in a bag. I used it but it was not that brilliant in my opinion. A skimmer is better any day in conjunction with REGULAR water changes, of course. Macroalgae is another option; a ball chaetomorpha in the corner of your tank. Rowaphos is brilliant for phosphates which are normally on the high side as well if the nitrates are up. Don't bother with the regeneration process as even after you have followed the instructions fully it stinks of bleach and prime... I was VERY NERVOUS putting it back in the tank; bleach + my prized corals and fish = impossibility.

All the best and kindest regards
