sea clear system 2 filtration question

I have had a Sea Clear system 2 wet/dry acrylic tank with built in filter for a year now, and I am unhappy with the bio balls included in the set up. I want to replace them with a pourous foam bloock. Is htere any reason that this won't work? All replies very wanted!!! Thanks!

Hi casual

You could use a ceramic foam type of media, I use it in my external filter, but it will work very well in a wet/dry system.
