my tank gets that thin film on it too. I just use my magnetic remover and it works really good. I have to do it once a week but it removes it really easily.

do you think adding a snail will help?? or some type of algae eater?

Adding one snail will result in 200 in 6 months time . And, they really don't eat that much "stuff" they move so darn slow. Plus, you start getting these clean streaks/strips through your gook because they eat in a line .
