hi i whent into my lps today to see if sell fish as ive just finished setting up my 4ft tank

im after tropical fish but all they had was cold water i looked at there discuting tank (about 1ft with 20-25 goldfish schubkins)

and made me feel sick the water looked dirty the gravel was all green and nasty
so i just thought i want them all to save them from the shop

speaking to the lady i said hey there really pretty and pretty cheeky 1 was at glass looking at me (she replied you can have them in with tropical fish
they can take the heat of the water and it doesnt matter to them atall
now i allways thought gold fish and things like that pond or bowl with cold water

i really want 1 of these (SCHUBKIN ?)i thought it was amazing transparent color but can i put it with tropical fish and do they mind the heat

no...look at the other thread....but i understand wanting to save the fishy's from the LFS Ive seen some gross tanks and refuse to do business w/ them...

Shabukin are cold water fish and are also incredibly messy fish (my sister has two). I understand the urge to rescue a poor fish but the LPS would just go and get another poor fish to sell.

thanks you 2 but braddah wot do you mean by (no...look at the other thread)

wot thread ?? and i was thinking of reporting the petshop i been thinking about it and its just sick

the fish didnt look happy and also there health couldnt be good so when buying i bet they dont live long

well im off to another town not to far to buy my 1st cpl fishys i cant wait

im also thinking of getting frog :)

well wish be begginers luck on picking a good healthy 1 cya

The majority of cold water fish will live in a tropical aquarium, but few will really thrive there. Oxygen is unusual amongst gases etc., in that it disolves better in cold water than warm. Thus fish "designed" for cold water often run a little short of oxygen at high temperatures.

thanks no prob i whent and bought my 1st few fishes today i got
5 zebra danios
and 2 goldbacks but im not sure there full name
