I've noticed that my cardinals tend to disperse though out the tank during the day and than at nigth usually around 9:30 they form a schooll and swim in a pattern. I am usually up working until 2-3 AM so they stay up late with me and get fed around 10:00PM.

Any ideas on what causes the change? Anyone have a similar experience?

Well, i have 4 black neons in my tank, and they just school so well!

I mean, they just stick together like team and never leave each other alone.

They are timid though, so if i walk near to the tank to watch them, they hide behind rock or plants. But, when they even hide, they stick together.

I guess they just love each other. :D

Mine do this too, i think with mine it is in anticipation of feeding time. They will all come forward and play in the filter output, and i feed them by putting the food in the output stream and allowing it to disperse through the tank. I think they group up and jockey for the best position and wait for me to feed them. During the day when its not feeding time, they are spread out, picking bits of food they missed from the last feeding off leaves and substrate.
