Hey,

I was at a local fish shop the other day with BEA/\/ and he got a scat(you might've read) and it died as we put it in his tank. I was going to get a silver one like his or a red one(2 bux more). They were all reely small but now i dont no whether to get 1 or not.

If you had read my reply in the other thread then you would already know the answer. Unless you have a brackish tank and are willing to gradually increase the SG as the fish grows until you have a marine tank then no. Also scats are a large fish that will require a tank of at least 75 gallons when full grown. Unless you are set up and prepared for these specialist fish then leave them in the shop.

if i made my water brackish can i keep the rest of my fish or only brackish? Plus i was going to move them to my 550 L tank after with a huge discus and pleco(gold nugget)

Of course you cant keep the fish you have with them!! Brackish fish live in brackish water and freshwater fish live in freshwater. Discus and gold nuggets are intolerant of even small ammounts of salt so definately could not be housed with them.

DO NOT BUY SCATS UNLESS YOU HAVE A BRACKISH TANK WHICH YOU CAN SLOWLY CONVERT TO MARINE!!!!!

Also your tank is overstocked as it is unless you are doing a 50% water change per day and they are all juveniles

i have never had a brackish water aquarium before i I had a 14" scat that lived 9 years in my 55 gallon aquarium that wAS filled up with water from the hose outside(which I found out later had an increase of acklilie, sorry for the spelling)

then i wonder why my juvie scat died :dunno: :dunno:
