Scarlet Pleco

went with a buddy of mine to a couple fish stores today looking for some rock and driftwood anyways at one of the fish stores they had this scarlet pleco first one i ever saw and wow it is an amazing fish the pleco was about 6-8 inches long and the wanted 250 bucks for him little bit much for a fish in my eyes but if i could find one a little cheaper i would so grab one up.
anyone know any good online pleco buying websites lol cuz this is the first time i ever saw one in my area at least

Hey I got mine off aquabid.com. They are really hard to find at a decent price. I noticed around June/July they started to go down in price. I got an L-25, and yes its a Scarlet not one of those pseudo flame cactus pelco look alikes, for only 65.00 + shipping. He was a wild caught and about 3-4 inches long. Hes healthy and doing great and has trailers longer than him. The seller was bennys tropical fish and you can visit their website at www.bennystropicalfish.com or give em call at 1-866-4333-5852. The sellers were really friendly and teh shipping of my fish was one of the most professional I've seen. I'm actually trying to get another catfish from them right now. I'd check and see if they have any, oh and they are located in Florida, U.S., I know soem users here are from the U.K.

well first they generally take paypal to pay for the fish. The fish goes into a bag of water, usually a bag that is known as a breathable bag. They are designed to allow oxygen into the fish during the travel. They also pack them in tightly with newspaper and provide a heat pack to help teh fish's water maintain its temperature. They send over night and most sellers will use Fedex, UPS, and USPS. Did you call benny's, because I know they had a lot just three months ago. You may want to give them a call even though the scarlets aren't posted online. I had to call them about the catfish I'm trying to order.

I don't know I've heard some negative comments about them posting pictures of fish they don't even have. I almost got a spiny monster pleco from them till I heard about that.

Benniebru, I have some good news for you. I just ordered my catfish from bennystropicalfish.com, and when I was doing it I went ahead and asked about teh scarlets for you. The good news is he has two right now. He has a 14 inch one for $140.00 and a 10 inch one for $100.00. He said that they are both males as well, which means more color.

its working out dude i emailed bennys last night and they emailed me back today they are holding the ten inch one for me until Tuesday since they are closed Sunday and Monday. he sent me pics of them and man they are such an awesome pleco
