Saw this on ebay and wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it.

Here.

Looks like an Eheim to me too. But then my APS external can also be found with several other makes written on the side if you google "External filter 9w UV". Couldnt vouch for the internals however, not sure if they would be different.

Thats a cheap Ehiem copy, probably made in the same factory as the APS stuff. Personally i wouldn't go down the road of cheap filters anymore...been there and done that, spent the money.

that's no Eheim. it looks like one to con buyers.
there are no "branded" filters in their range.
its a cheap tacky copy.

but you will find the APS under several names. APS dont make anything, they buy cheap Chinese product and badge it.
its the difference between an manufacturer, and a badge brand.

incidentally this filter is a real pile of doo doo. just try finding an parts. like replacements for the cheap flimsy locking catches. that break looking at them!

go for an APS, or. buy yourself a SH Eheim pro/pro2.

i dont think i would want to risk skimping on something thats pumping water about outside of my tank.....................

I bought my first canister filter, which is an Odyssea CFS 500. I paid $57 for it on AquaTraders.com, and it works beautifully! It's very quiet and seems to be quite well built. Customer service there is good too.

I kind of figured finding a second good filter for a ridiculously low price was pushing it, but thought I'd check with you first. Glad I did!!

lol, i hear that!

my first cannister was a HydorPrime 30. I'd never heard of them, and the were defiantly "budget" items.
but it turns out to be a fine and reliable filter.
If it weren't for me getting Eheim 2224's for £30-45 sh. it would be my best bargain.

It can still be bought for £50-70 new. so keep an eye out
I'm sure there is a mod here with one, too.
