Saw a video about a plant that grows above the tank?

Here's my 240 gallon with Syngonium .Just to let you know, cichlids will eat roots in fact my plant is all rope like roots until they go into the sand and gravel substrate,THEN they develop the fine roots. The Rainbows eat any of those fine roots that are exposed.
Wow, your tank is looking incredible!

What's the other plant on the tabletop, on the left of the photo? Is that a dracaena?

That's one of the newer Aglaonema cultivars. I forget the name but something like neon pink. The stems glow when backlit.

Dang, I want to get some! I'm not usually a pink sorta gal, but that plant is really striking! The one you have growing out of the tank is really stunning too. I have some pothos I plan to grow out of my tank, but I'd like other options too, since I want more than one growing out of it.

Did you build any kind of support system/trellis for that trailing plant and train it where to grow at all?

I pick up bamboo at Lowes in the dying plant section. They never refill the 'test tubes' that they are rooted in with water and they are a buck or two each and come right back. I've got about 6 in my bypass section of my AquaClear 150 with the inlet set to bypass so the roots get nice, clean pre-filtered (but with Nitrates) water.

This acrylic aquarium is about 40 years old. In those days they did a full cover except for three 16" x 8" cut outs. and three 2" x8" cutouts for the hang on back filters and siphon tubes in those days. The Syngonium started out as cuttings in the "filter" opening to the far left It just grew up through one of the larger openings on its own and now I just wrap stems on stems. Let it do its thing after that.
One plant you would love to grow are the Anthurium. Grow great hydroponically and give you those flashy flowers.

Thats great! Try and do a nitrate test this week before your water change and compare it over the next few weeks to understand how its doing. Does your tank get good natural light? Just wondering if you need to add on a little lamp for it to grow its best and use the nutrients from the water.

This is a good one - out of stock right now but something like this only £12 and a nice looking unit too.

If you dont keep up with light over the top of the plants they just sort of stay in survival mode and you need them to be actively growing to use the nutrients in the tank.

The tank is directly opposite a set of double patio doors with full windows, if that’s ok?
