Went into a shop today to see if they had any bloodworms, (as the normal place i to is always ordering them in Y_Y lol)
they had them, pretty good take also, $10 for 3, yea i thought it was grate at the time,
after that i went around had a look at his fish, considering im in the market for some females i thought what the hell ill give them a look,
HIS TANKS WERE GREEN, they were growing mold, he had internal jet waterfalls, you know the ones with 5 or so holes on the pipe makes kind of a jet waterfall, only 1 stream was working on it,
had 7 betta left in there, 5 female and 2 males, made up my mind when i saw they were still lively, that i was not leaving them there,
lol i turned around and said ill take all of them off your hands for $40, starting to think i should have said 30, he jumped at the idea
saved 7 bettas today not to mention all of witch look grate, other then the fact they look a little sad and depressing in that water,

hell i cant even save them from that water right away i have to slowly give them good water in say 25% batch's

in a bit ill try and upload some pictures of them,

also got a nice little digital temp reader GRATE FOR PEOPLE WHO CANT READ THE SMALL LINES ON A REAL THERMOMETER, new tank temp reading is... 76.5F dame i love that

ok here are the pictures,
males first,

changed from the first picture, this one is going to save a load of time lol

latter ill have to remember to upload a cupple pictures my ones these girls and guys though im going to have to work out a good home for them, prob have to change up my breeding tank to hold them,

not to sure if i want to just dump them in with my girls though one of witch are still upset and could do with some alone time, though this new stess coat stuff i got should help with that.

One of the females looks like her tail is torn. Could it be finrot, or you think it's just damaged?

i thought that also, i put a little all rounder safe med's in,
also helps with some stress,

starting to introduce the girls to my breeding tank, the temp tank was a little cold, there coming up now to a nice 78,

Some of them seem to be in such a state, poor things. I'm sure you'll soon have them all healthy though ;)

Very nice colours on that first male and that green-blue one will look great once his fins are sorted :)

most of them are doing grate now, swimming around in my breeding tank, 2 of them had a little bit of a deaths door dance, swimming around on there side, it was a close call for them though i think they will make a 100% recovery
i had a little water left in one of the holders, the PH was over 8 i could not even get a good reading on it, i think thats what made the 2 sick, there better now i have gotten there PH down to about 7.3 im putting it down a little more soon dont want to go to fast though,

got 1 more today, not from his shop though, this one was from a friend of mine a breeder, pretty little girl with a blue body and pinkish purple fins i have her in my healing tank right now also, (dif section to the 2 that are sick) ill try and get a picture of her latter

DarkPride, do not jump to conclusions. A tank that has a nice layer of algae is often one with great water quality. I raise lots of nice breeders in tanks that are nothing to write home about in terms of appearance. Whenever I get the bug I go around cleaning tanks of their algae and flow restrictions and then, for the next few weeks, I need to deal with poor water quality or even things like cloudy water. I like a good looking tank as much as the next guy but an algae covered glass is nothing that I worry about when it comes to my fish. Algae, like any other plant, is good for my fish because it absorbs ammonia directly.

lol i know there is good algae and bad algae, though this was bad, he had about 40 goldfish in another tank, the tank i got my females from had almost a dozen dead females on the bottom and top, just floating around, not to mention the guppies

his lights and filters are set up so that he can turn them on when someone comes in to look at them, after they leave he turns them off, also keeping angelfish with male bettas, yes more then 1, the tank with the female bettas, he had to stick his hand in to wipe the glass so that you could see the fish, now the last thing i noticed was with the end of the bagged water, the PH was over 8.0 i could not get a complete reading on the ph lvl the water just turned black, this was with both a digital tester and a powder tube test kit,

normally i would not bad mouth a shop over how they keep there fish, only when it is this bad, by the sounds of it a shop in the USA that every one bad mouths is better then this place, umm some place called wall mart i think, though i have no exp with them as they are not in Australia, so i wouldn't know.
