Hi

Wonder if you can help, i have a cold water tank in which i have a few fish and a huge apple snail, well one of my fish developed white spot, i used medicine but it got worse and has spread to all of the fish in the tank, the snail is fine but wondered how i would go about moving him to my other tank? I don't want to risk spreading the infection but don't want to loose him as I have all of the other fish in that tank!

Any suggestions as to how i can get him safely across?

Could I move him into another bowl with water from the new tank for a week or so and then move him in would that be the best way?

Thanks in advance for the help.

hi, i think the best way is to move the snail into a small bowl or container, add some water from the (clean tank) into the bowl for your snail.

change water daily from the bowl, I would say 50% every time. Do this 7 days and it should be fine for the snail moving into the new tank. This way you can stop infection moving into your other tank.

What kind of fish do you have? any filter?

hope this help

sounds like a plan to me, i would leave him alone for a day or two in some clean water, or i have done this to my snails take a small soft tooth brush and scrub the shell as well.

Thanks,
He's now sitting in a fruit bowl of clean tank water eating a big lump of courgette and seems very happy with himself! Just hope he decides to stay put and not to go wandering outsife the bowl over night!

put a top on it just to make sure, even if its just a pot top. last thing you need is to wake up and find your snail on your nose.
