Hi guys. There are wispy white things on my fish. I think it is either ich or columnaris.


Well, they aren't my fish, so I don't know about the conditions of the tank.

If these aren't your fish, can you please have the owner of the fish get water stats?

Are those blood parrot cichlids? Do you know the number of fish, when it began, the size of the tank, etc? Any additional information would be helpful.

Upon closer inspection, that looks a lot like ich. When you say "wispy" things, what exactly do you mean?

Looks like bits of fuzz to me rather than the grains of salt look.  I've not seen fungus spread in little bits like that so I'm not so sure.
 
Are these store fish you are thinking of getting?

It looks like ich to me.  I used QuICK Cure on an ich outbreak in my tank and it cured most of the fish.  Also vacuum the gravel daily...(if these aren't store fish) or ask your friend who owns them to.  Plenty of warm, clean water, vacuuming, and a medicine (AQ Salt also helps in most cases) usually can clear it up.
