Rabbit Snails have been on my definites list for some weeks. I'm very interested in a batch, but I'm a little concerned:-

  • My heavily planted Rio 240 has only had fish (6x3cm Pearl Danios) in it since Sunday. Chemical tests are coming back good so far (0 ammonia; 0-0.1 nitrite; ~20 nitrate). I do have a developing algae issue, despite the plants showing growth, which I hope that the Rabbit Snails could help sort out for the tank (providing they are going to be fine to add to a new setup).
  • In your picture, the left snail looks to have significant damage/errosion to the tip of its shell. How many of your offered snails are in such a condition? Can you account for the condition of the shell eg. acidic and/or low hardness tank water?
  • How different is your snail tank water to mine (pH 7.5; kH 11 degrees; gH 14 degrees )?
As long as I'm not going to put the snails through hell by adding them now, I'm definitely interested in a batch of mixed colours and sizes.
