Poor old dog. I knew something was wrong, when I did the decorations, she let me put tinsel round her neck for the first time in 7 years.

So, I took her, and her pee sample, to the vet. Cystitis.

And...I might add....£61.60!!!! holy cow, the drugs alone were £33.00! Damn girl, drink cranberry juice like everyone else does

Incidentally, if you are going to collect a fresh urine sample from a dog on the way to the vet, take wet wipes, tissues and a paper bag to hide it in. She peed on my hand while I was collecting it (turning round to see what I was doing fumbling underneath her), then I had a wet specime jar and a wet hand, and had to walk through town on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, carrying a full wee pot in my hand cos it was wet and I didn't want to put it in my pocket - and no one else had any way of knowing it was hers and not mine and I must have looked like a right exhibitionist-wee-carrying-weirdo, cos a dog urine sample in a pot looks exactly like a human urine sample in a pot. Ick.

(Incidentally, she is insured, but the excess is £48.00, so it's not worth a claim for £13.60)

Poor old gal. Incidentally, from experience, the easiest way to take a pee sample is to use a small old shallow saucepan or frying pan. I keep a boot sale bargain one here for just that purpose
Make sure she drinks loads and if she is on kibble, presoak it to get extra fluids in and obviously ensure she can go out for a wee as often as possible as holding on can make it worse.
The antibiotics will kick in quickly and she will feel heaps better poor old sausage. Give her a good old ear mangle from me. A gentle one of course lol. All 8 of my dogs love their ears mangled.
