There is a fish shop near me that is relocating and they are selling some of their display stock (tanks and fish). Does anyone have any information on a Saratoga or a Bullrout?

Bullrouts are venomous, will eat most tankmates, need high filtration, do best in brackish water and are best in a species tank IMO.

Saratogas need a large tank (think along the lines of at least 6x2x2) and are freshwater.

On the off chance you were thinking of keeping them together, I would advise against it.

They are being kept together in an 8 foot tank at the moment. I'm not really interested in the bullrout, it's ugly and venomous but both the two fish are being sold together as a pair (along with the 8x2x3 tank)

you could always send the bullrout my way, I have been looking for one for a while (only just found a place that gets them in by order so a bullrout tank is on the agenda)

Personally I think they are an awesome looking fish and are one of my favs. They really should be kept in brackish water as they get older though as they are an estuary fish which, while found in freshwater, do best in brackish.
