Sand

A simple question guys and sorry if asked before, couldnt remember any answer if did and also couldnt find anything in topics posted (so sorry!).

Would coral sand be safe to use with cories? Currently they are on pea gravel but with set up of a breeder would most likely need to go sand substrate. I have a bucket of coral sand lying around (would need a very good wash) but would love to recycle and use it. I have hard water and PH of 8 if that helps

coral sand will raise your pH even higher so i would possibly give it a miss and go for argos play sand as its very cheap and has no effect on the pH of the water....

I agree with matt,crushed coral is used for raising ph,so using coral sand will have the same effect...

Shame has coral sand is very effective.

Ah thanks very much guys, doh, guess it will have to hang about abit longer! Now to get someone to take me in their car to lug a bag of sand home...
