So I’m really struggling to clean my sand in my tank, the depth of my tank is 2 and half foot so it’s difficult to do, has anyone got any hints or tips or something they’ve used in the past that could help me??

Regards

For small grain simply hovering it slowly above the sand should work. For bigger grain using a gravel vacuum is best. I like to also go in with some tweezers and stab the substrate some times to move it and stop any dangerous gases form accumulating

I’ve tried to hover over the sand and it’s not really picked anything up might try your tweezers idea though thanks

It should be working. What kind of siphon do you have?

There definitely is a knack to it.
Its a lot easier if you use something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002AQI7W/?tag=, which is what Colin meant by a long gravel cleaner. It will suck up the sand but before it gets to the top of the tube gravity will drop it down again. Any debris which is lighter than sand will just get sucked up.

Well I’ve got a python cleaner that’s a long one, I don’t haven’t got the knack using it quite yet either.
