Sand Sifting Sea Star Vs White Ring Urchin

ok well my roommate ust got a sand sifting star. it's about 3 inches in diameter from tip to tip. He also has a white ring urchin in there, the body of the urchin is about 2 inches in diameter, with the spike tip to tip its about 4 inches.

I read that these starfish eat small urchin, so my question is should i be worried and really watch out for the two, or should they be fine?

They will not predate upon each other, and a bigger concern will be getting enough for the star to eat. They can clear a one hundred gallon tank of food in a few months then starve to death.

after it runs out of food could he just throw some cut up fish in the tank or supplement it's diet with something?

Well he could do this, but it all depends if the starfish will except the food...
