Hi everybody,
I have another question, about the sand I have, i'm not really sure if its ok for corys, its very similar to the sand found on beaches, a natural colour, each grain about 1 third of a millimeter in diameter. It came in a bag simply labeled aquarium sand, pre-washed, safe for use in aquarium, great for bottom feeders.
I know it says great for bottom feeders but that doesn't mean anything really, they could be lying.

it is the best possible substrate for corys definatly
as well as most other bottom feeders since it doesnt dameage their barbels
also the best for plants

if its aquarium sand then it should be fine.... the only other sand useable is childs play sand as it contains no chemicals etc as its marketed for kids to play in. this is also very very cheaper than lfs aquarium sand but normally comes as quite a pale yellow colour, i use it in all my tanks and its great. :good:

if you want different shades of play sand argos and toysrus do the lightest and homebase does quite a dark natural looking bag

Alright, thanks guys, I won't worry anymore now. :good:
It wasn't actually very expensive at all, I have it in both tanks and a huge bag cost only about 5 pounds, I have used it to make a layer about 2 inches thick in my 29 gallon and there is still over half left.
