Hey everyone,
First of all I just wanted to let everyone know that I absolutely LOVE this website and am sooooo GLAD i found it!

Ok so I have 2 questions!

My first question is that Next month I am getting a 55 gallon. My mother (who has a saltwater tank) has given me some of her ornaments that she didn't want in her tank. They are corals and such. (I am not positive if they are real or not) They were only in her fishtank for a week.)
Do you think if i soak them in freshwater and rinse them really well I can use them in my freshwater tank??????????

Ok and for my second question:
I have a penguin filter with bio-wheel. Last week I accidently put about 200 brine shrimp into my aquarium. (the bag broke! ) Well i turned off my filter when it first happened and tried to let my fish eat most of them up. But they got full fast. So i turned back on my filter and ever since that day my low setting (for feeding time) doesn't work. It makes strange noises. I cleaned it and changed the filter cartridges.

Any advice on both subjects is appreciated! THANK YOU

If the corals are real, you can't use them in a freshwater tank. If they are fake, just rinse them and put them in your tank :)

I can't help you about the filter, I'd just clean it out thoroughly again though :dunno:
