salt

Hi i am new to keeping fish, i could use some advice, i have 2 angel fish and 6 platys at the mo,,i have been reading heaps about different fish etc, there are a few that i would like but they say to add salt in the tank, would my other fish be ok if i add salt, or should i put the salt in a seperate tank for the brakish fish in that tank??

Your platies would be fine with mildly brackish water but adding salt is a definate no no for angelfish which come from a enviroment with no salt content at all.

Which brackish fish are you interested in? It would probably be best to set up a seperate brackish tank as many brackish fish need to have the SG (salt level) of the water raised as they grow.

What kind of fish you wanting, some fish can live in fresh water to brackish water.
