i have some doc wellness aqua salt and was wondering when you add it to the tank, do you mix it with water and then pour it in or just place it in the tank like it is?how long does one dose last before you have to add the full dose again?`

Mix it with tank water first, then add it to the tank over a period of time (couple days) so the fish can adapt to it.

After you've added the full dose, you only have to add more when you do water changes. And then you would only add enough salt for the new water you're adding, not for the entire tank.

I have 1 tsp per 10 gallons on my salt. You can add it all at once if it's dissolved in water already, just make sure you evenly spread it through the tank as much as possible so it doesn't offset the salinty too much and cause a small patch of "saltwater."

I wouldn't add more than what it says to add.

I always add meds, etc. into the chamber where my powerhead is. That way everything gets evenly spread around quickly.
