I have corries in my 29g. I also have a sick angelfish in there. I was told to use 1tablespoon / 10g of aquarium salt, will this hurt my corries?

Do corries have zero tolerance for salt, or is there some threashold level?

Thanks

Salt is safe for Cories despite the misconception though to be safe and for practical reasons, it's best to mix the salt with water before adding it to the aquarium and then spread the water as evenly as possible.

Wow that is news to me, you will understand if I feel a second opinion is a good idea.....

I'm sure there will be those who say no but I've used salt in past years to no ill effects and the fish are still swimming around today.

Hi newfishaddict :)

I already responded on your other thread, but I'll say it again. Salt can be used for medicinal purposes, for short periods only, with no harm done to corys.

I've even used it in concentrated salt baths as a last resort to treat persistent bacterial infections when all else failed. This is not what I would recommend though. Bacterial infections are dangerous and can become deadly very fast. Please use a real medicine to treat your fish.
