Salt Water

ive just bought some tropic main salt (probably not the best stuff)

however i need to set up a small salt water tank (2.5 uk gallon about 10 litres) for my amano shrimp babies

ive read that they need a salinity of 35ppt

my question being how much salt do i need to add to 1 uk gallon of water (or 1 litre of water)

any help/answer will be appreciated

you need to get a hydrometer/refractometer

add some salt to the water, mix it and test it, keep adding until you reach the desired salinity

Tropic Marin is one of the more recommended salts. I recall reading a number of public aquaria and professionals (such as Bob Fenner) us it.

Whether one can really notice any discernible difference between salts is somewhat debatable.
