I have a book that states that the author has kept every single commercal cory cat there is and has used 2 teaspoons of salt a gallon and has no ill effects, but this myth is a fact in many books, well i still wouldnt do it but im just saying it probly is a myth but dont go and do it and blame me ok, the book was

By the way.. Why do you want to add salt in your tank - if its not brackish water tank? I have never put salt into my freshwater tanks and fishes are fine. (Although I do not have mollies, swordtails, platies or guppies- And when I had those, I didnät buy fishes that needed salt addition.)

People here (and mods) have stated what they believe is correct and with salt it has come up on numerous ocassions so a topic was posted and pinned about it. It was also locked so that the info would not turn into a debate.....

You are perfectly intitled to ignore that advice as you see fit - and as with most things there is allways going to be a difference of opinion with someone or some book....
