My male black molly has been acting strange lately, circling the tank and 'hugging the glass'. I've also noticed that the top of his tail fin is not fully erect (giving the impression of a downward bending tail) and a few white spots on his body. The other fish seem happy and healthy.

As for water readings, nitrites and nitrates are fairly high but I'm doing regular water changes to keep on top of them. Ammonia is neglible and pH is the same as it always was, about 7.4-7.8.

I bought some pure sea salt (no additives) today so that I could add some to the tank and also give my molly a salt bath. So basically I am asking for advice on these two tasks, i.e. how to give a salt bath, and how much salt to add to the tank (tbspn/gallon or whatever). My other fish are salt tolerant so that isn't a problem.

Thanks for any advice, I hope to get Garrett perky and healthy again soon.

A few white spot do they look like sprinkles of salt.

Thanks!

I've given Garrett a salt bath and put some salt into the new water that I just changed. He has really perked up, all fins erect and he's swimming around properly.

I'll keep an eye on him :)
