Salt bathing koi

Hiya,

I know its not tropical but give anyone give me ANY advice on giving koi a salt bath?

-when shouldnt you salt bath a koi? (Does scarring matter)
-whats the best salt to water ratio?
-the best routine to do aswell.

Ive seen so many videos and they all show different ways & this page has been so helpful in the past

This is disease-specific. Different diseases/parasites need different concentrations and durations.

As with tropical fish, salt should not be used routinely, only when it's the best treatment for a disease. Salt is a mild antiseptic, and can be used to treat minor fungal and bacterial infections and some protozoan infections. For further details see post #2 here
