U saltwater people :p , what do you keep your salinity level at?

I don't have one yet but my LFS keeps theirs between 1.024 and 1.025 and that's what most of them probably are around as far as I know.

1.023-1.024 for me - that's what I was advised by the LFS when I started so that's what I stick with...

I use natural seawater, that is 1.025 in my area.

hey navarre, thats pretty cool that you are able to use natural
seawater. does the salinity ever fluctuate, or is it a constant 1.025?

Thanks for the great replies every1. U answered my question marveluosly. I'm patiently waiting what is said about the seawater. :D

Doesnt seem to fluctuate at all. I use the same location each time i get more water. I always get the water on a rising tide even the the location i get the water is always covered in water (tide doesnt go out this far).

I get my water from the atlantic ocean, though this part of the atlantic ocean is the gulf stream and this stream hits our part of the coast head on. Maybe this helps to keep water conditions at a high quality. :dunno:

Mines usually 1.022.. That's just what it ends up mixing at.. I don't try to mess with it too much. I get lucky I guess..

Mines at 1.021 how do I increase it? I mean I know I have to add more salt but what means would I go about to increase it, methods?

Dont increase it too fast. Perhaps a little salt extra every couple of days. this will gradually increase the salt levels t o a standard you are more happy with.
