Sailfin Pleco's

i have two sailfin pleco's living in my 5ft fish tank.
when they are on the glass or the bridge they look a nice dark colour
but when they are on the sand they seem to go a very light brown with a hint of pink.
is this normal?

tank dimensions are L-60" x W-18" x H-24"
i'll post a pic later as i need to take one first and am off out in a minute.

don't think its anything to worry about, theyre probably just trying to match the colour of the surface theyre on
