Ok, so its hard to see if your plec's eating or not if yourt not watching the tank 24hr's a day.

my tank is now spotless thanks to my sailfin and indian algae eater...however the suplements im giving him are ignored, various algae wafer's, other products.

what can i feed him now that there is no algae, that he WILL eat? other than cucumber, that he eat's from time to time.

Perhaps algae pellets, I feed my L-017 mussles twice a week and he loves them along with my bronze pleco and bristlenose- The L-017 used to eat them straight away as thats what they fed him in the shop but the others took a while to realise how nice it is. Perhaps buy some- i got about 20 for £5
Hope he gets better!

Hi, if you don't see your Pleco eat you can tell if it is eating by looking at it's tummy. If it is sunken then it is probably not eating enough. If it is eating enough it's tummy should be slightly rounded but not bloated. My Common Pleco has a rounded tummy. Hope that helps. Some Plecos are very shy and secretive so the only way to guess is by looking at their body. :) I feed my Pleco on algae wafers, catfish pellets (which all the fish pig out on!). They also like cucumber, romaine lettuce and peas. They also like some other veg. Large Common Plecos also like a prawn once a week.
