In my pond, there has been this plant that popped out of nowhere and grew really well.
The only information I know is that it has a Saggitaria like growth pattern and leaves, but the flowering stalks throw me off.
GROWTH INFORMATION:
- flowers begin to grow in beginning of summer and dry off near the end of summer. tiny purple flowers with round seed pods with brown crescent seeds
- splits every year into 2 plants. started with 1, then 2, then 4.
- i think every plant flowers once (based on 4 flower stalks this year)
- seedlings in pictures below were because I spread seeds in the tank. I thought the guppies ate them.
- dies off in winter to come back next year
- Saggitaria sanfordii leaves but unlike flowers.
there are many mysterious plants in the pond... this is just my favorite one.
