Hello, I've recently come across a 90 gallon w/ a corner overflow. The outflow is drilled on the bottom of the overflow and drains directly into a sump.

I know I can physically remove the overflow. That won't be too hard, especially w silicone remover. My question is about the safety and stability of the hole. Is it safe to plug that hole w/ a gasket, sealed in silicon, or has the integrity of the bottom glass been compromised without the overflow?

Thanks

The only way to plug the holes safely, is to use bulkheads and pvc plugs. Get the threaded type and use teflon tape and they shouldn't leak.
