I need to paint the inside of my diy hood but not sure what paint I can use. I will seal it all with polyurethane varnish. Could I use any household paint if I am sealing it. ?

I finish the inside of my DIY light strips with white primer made for latex enamel paint. Once it is thoroughly dry, it is waterproof and the stark white color makes a decent reflector as well.

the only problem is i dont think i can get latex enamel paint here in the uk....anywhere i look i end up finding a site in the states... i can get plain enamel paint here though but i dont know if it is the same thing!

I used Dulux weathershield paint. I would suggest you go for something with a low VOC (volatile organic compound) rating, that is water soluble (i.e. doesn't take white spirit to clean it off the brush)

What is called latex paint in the US is the stuff that you can clean paint brushes using water. I have no idea why they call it latex.

You mean acrylic paint?

Best of using something with low VOC but a gloss finish, and yep, tin foil is the better way to go! ;p
