Do Siamese Algae Eaters bother newborn or young livebearer fry?

SAE are Cyprinids not catfish, they may eat the eggs and small fry of other fish if they can catch them.

General fact of nature, if a fish is large enough to get a smaller fish in it's mouth and swallow it, it probably will.

Thanks. I just thought they were herbivorous...I'll use the ottos then, so far they've been safe with fry.
