My name really is Wanda and I did get so many jokes when I was at school and the film came out!!!! but anyway I got my little Albino BN Female and called her wanda

aww frosty is lovely, how big is the female bn ? looks like a juvie male to me, my females have no bristles at all and thats at 3.5 inches, though there are lots of types and some females do have a few bristles.

Emma :D

Frosty is lovely :) They are so shy aren't they ?

Emma, I've had females with small rows of stubs at around 3.5 - 4" :) Where are the male counterparts had huge lush brisltes.

she is about as long as my hand so probably around 5" maybe a tad more.....when I got her she was in a tank of BNs all from the same hatching and whoa nelly did all the males have very bristly faces (like little santa claus) :santa: and the females just had these tiny fluffy bristles....I adore her

As for frosty hes stillsmall you can see from the size of the gravel relative to the size of him :)

My Ansistrus (type and sex unknown) hase lots of bristles and it's only 1.75" :)

They're some lovely plecos you've got :D

The difference is that females will only get bristles around the front of their nose whilst males get the bristles on top aswell. Yours deffinately looks like an adult female.

Ben

:rip: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's harder when you don't even know why it happened. He was such a beautiful little pleco :byebye:

My female BN, has small bristles around her lip, and she is about 3"

not all Female BN get bristles it depends on the species :) hope that helps make the water even murkier

Awwww... sorry to here this, one of my BN`s past away not long ago, it was totaly out of the blue, was very active along with the other Bn, but its eyes suddnley sunk in and it started fitting, within a hour or 2 it was dead.
