We got some of these in at work. I understand they typically grow to about 3-3.5"... Can they go with other puffers or should they be kept singley? I am not doing very well with dwarf puffers, generally i can only get one of them to feed. One of them died the other week so i am down to 2 now, one of which is thin and the other quite fat.

I have had sucess keeping SAPs with dwarves & also C modestus. They need a large tank with lots of decor to hide out in. I also keep them with larger cichlids. The biggest problem with the SAPs is that they need a daily supply of snails or they need their teeth trimmed every 4-6 months. This is impossible in a "community" tank.

It is not adviced keeping them with any other species of puffer other than themselfs. You will be able to keep more than 1 SA puffer in a tank big enough though :) They dont tend to be (too) aggressive against their own sort.

Like with every puffer: dont keep fish with it that you dont wanna see dead. Even though the SA puffer is the least aggresive puffer of them all, it's still capable of killing and there's no guarantee that it wont.
