I have a group of 10 rummynoses who always shoal and swim together.

Their heads are usually really red, which is a good sign, however I noticed that some of them have some green patches on their head, just above the red part of their heads.

Is this normal or is it some sort of disease?

I doubt that you have rummynose tetras
I bet you have firehead tetras.
it is perfectly normal for fireheads to have a green sheen to the red/around the red part.

pics of my fireheads and false rummynoses can be found here

there are links that show you the difference between rummy, false rummys and fireheads too.
